Result
MCGx delivered a consolidated barrier audit covering more than 500 LOT and FT signatures from over 40 wells, giving the operator the first clear and defensible view of barrier health. The work removed exposure to a Consequence B environmental risk – correcting flawed assumptions, tightened critical testing practices, and identified early indications of valve degradation, materially strengthening the asset’s barrier management framework.
Problem
Barrier valve integrity could not be reliably assessed due to inconsistent LOT procedures, including changing test volumes, misinterpreted test timings and evolving barrier boundaries. As a result, historical barrier integrity testing did not accurately represent the true valve performance.
MCGx Insight
MCGx sourced and normalised all LOT/FT signatures, then evaluated them using updated volumetric logic and expected valve response behaviour. The audit revealed assumptions that drifted or were invalid, including standardised hold times, legacy XT volumes and gas-to-oil conversion inputs used for consequence assessments. Aggregated trend analysis identified early valve degradation, allowing the operator to plan interventions and reinforce barrier surveillance.
Proof
MCGx delivered updated calculators, refined procedures, clarified barrier classifications, and guidance for future surveillance. Testing is now conducted using consistent inputs and acceptance criteria, giving the operator greater confidence in barrier status and integrity decision-making.
